What in the World?

Did any of you ever subscribe to National Geographic World as a kid? I did, and my favorite part was the last page where there were random pictures of everyday items shot as super close-ups. The idea was to guess what you were looking at. I offer for your enjoyment the Passey version of National Geographic's "What in the World." I will send chocolate to the winner. Be specific.

I can tell that it's skin, but I'm not going to venture what part of the body...but it looks like a footprint of some sort on someones skin. Whatever it is, it has an interesting pattern.

Beth Passey!! It looks like a bottom from that interesting shadow towards the bottom of the picture! But I'm going to guess that you didn't post someones backside on the internet! Looks like a rash to me!

Please explain ASAP what this actually is! I too think it looks like a strange skin rash, maybe on someone's chest? Whatever or wherever it is, it looks very sore, itchy and uncomfortable!

THAT is sunburn through a lace top, for sure.

Okay, so Joseph and I have ascertained that this young individual has been extremely bad at school, therefore he/she has been severely paddled. The paddle has many holes cut in it, so that it might be swung faster and with more force. Thus a lovely pattern was left on the young one's bottom as a result.
